Standard Resistance Welder Company uses a manufacturing process whereby laminated shunts are wound and formed without cutting the ends.
Because the laminations are not cut, but but continue around the ends of the shunt without interruption, the current may also flow around the ends. This results in a greatly improved distribution of current and a more even distribution of heat throughout the entire shunt.
When ordering custom built laminated shunts, furnish a print or specify the following:
1. Length of longest sheet (OL)
2. Width (W)
3. Thickness (T)
4. Drill size or clearance
5. Drill pattern (see below)
6. Thickness of copper sheet if other than .005”
7. End treatment (Clip, soldered, etc.)
8. Shunt configuration
